O’ life the sun exceeds a billion Suns
To light up the starry space
I can count countless constellations
A tyranny of life, in a grain of sand
A Universe this long & complete
A trillion voices of Life’s mystery
The sameness of a million worlds may be
The destiny of the ascended species
O’ life, enough of war and petty pursuits
Such magnitudes as this oppresses my mind
That delight in knowledge never finds
A limit to the limitless cooperation
Of as many Gods counted as extinctions
Our earth a blessed green-round carnivore
Solved in golden rain and proud expansion’s mirth.

Reblogged this on Verses of my Destruction.
Very thought provoking! If only that long-haired skinny gal hadn’t wandered into the picture… ** π **
I fear I may have to return to my erotic picture ways…
Let me encourage you in that! Actually, the young lady in the photo looks quite lovely…now that I have studied the photo two or three hundred times!
And the poem remains one of my favorites coming from your heart and mind.
You have the soul of a true poet; I look forward to your next poem.
Oh the contrasts! Excellent poem π
Always spectacular
I appreciate the high praise Doug!
the poem is very inspiring, but I really love that picture, it has so much beauty within it.
