I grew up in this town, my poetry was born between the hill and the river, it took its voice from the rain, and like the timber, it steeped itself in the forests.
~ Pablo Neruda
I am the lotus on the menu
of soft and moist poems
that flow and swirl around the fireplace
by the window breeze, in rapture
for doctrine-dreams docile to divinity
the boundaries that have none
and peace that is washed on the nape
of your neck, the nouns-cherished like
flower breath, fragrance at your bottom-lip
hope heard like a photobomb
peach lyrics of vocal charm of forever
friends, spirits, pleas of narrative
that cuts to the heart of all experience
festival of physical discovery
in a maze of mantras, verging on light
the language of folds that covets songs
lyrics that is not spelled, silence that is not
empty, leaves in motion like verbal-dance
faith, in an avalanche of anticipation
that’s poetry, clean and with soft foundations
firm at the summit of her storm-blooms
perpetual attributes of sheltered stanzas
sweet as the taste of a lady’s geography
whose distance is as quick as summer
and whose memory lingers like youth
delicious to the mind, that drinks symbols
the hemline of all dress, words, clothes, books
the last formal invitation of literature.
Hey, great images! Have you ever considered selling your images? I work for a photography company called EyeEm and we would like to work with you. If you are interested, please send me an email at email@example.com. Have a great day!
haha redbrick you noticed I enjoy good photography, well don’t we all. But the idea that words or pictures “belong” to someone is highly absurd in the information age.
It’s not absurd at all! That’s how photographers exist, and to consume photography or another person’s text without crediting them is illegal. Many many photographers sell their images, because they want to share and be acknowledged for their work. To freely share, without the permission of the creator of the words or pictures, is illegal!
In age when I can watch a youtube video or download a movie on bit torrent or an e-book for that matter, you have to admit the idea of copyright is not what it once was, you may say it’s illegal but that’s the world now.
I’ve had this debate many times and I’m sure photographers have some viable ways to feed themselves but it can’t be easy when anyone can write a book, take a photo or make music now.
Well, it’s just decency. And I see you’ve started to put photo credits on your posts now, so that’s good 🙂
Very fine expression of a man’s feelings for a feminine being!!
Well I do tend to see poetry as feminine 🙂
I give credit to deviant art, have you been?
Love the vividness, and due to the way we each individually have our own perception of each picture, of each word, I believe it adds a level of intimacy to your poem…but that’s only my perception of your words ha ha
Yes intimacy is what I am after, it is after-all, perhaps what we cry for the most in our secret of hearts. Thanks for your perceptive comment Sky.
Thank you for presenting the opportunity for further discussion, intellect is wasted upon the unquestioned.
art is supposed to question or mimic life, life being a neverending evolution, at best.
True however…I’m getting the last word lol
The last word of poetry is always the next poem…
Reblogged this on write about most things and commented:
Inspiration for this post stemmed from the words of another. Thus, the power of poetry, a bridge from one intellect to another.
Long walks, guided by misguided feet
A call from Texas, I dare not answer
A knowledge of misunderstanding
You may have words like this…but these are undoubtedly mine.
