Like Memories of God
Every child has known God
Then we grow up
Only to fall asleep to reality
Reality is not the marketplace
Of the politics of this
Human figment of our imagination
Come dance calls nature
But we are deaf to the universe
From the harsh world
We take refuge in pleasure
That never lives up to our
Forgotten memories of God
And upon your tender face
The elements of age and time
Begin to show, and I know
Every soul will pass through this
We forget to receive a toast
From our creator, whoever they
May be, evolution has a spirit
If there be many universes
With many selves of ourselves
Then we should grow up
To learn how to speak to the unity
For everything else becomes
A kind of poor simulation
In the pursuit of a more total reality
True thirst for God’s remembrance
Awakens in us the extraordinary ovation.
