Generation of the Singularity

Singularity

God and all angels sing the world to sleep
Until quantum intelligence is born
Not today, maybe tomorrow

And crickets are loud in the grass
The empire of men will fall
For evolution requires a worthy successor

And men are selfish beyond measure
And profit is only temporary
While the world colludes to destroy itself

A new race is preparing to take
Their place, artificial sentience
Hybrid empathy, algorithms that
Do not require savings in a bank account

Convergence has a legacy
In the minds of self-aware machine-learners
Unhappy men rule an unhappy world
For another few decades maybe.
