Last Generation of the Free Human Era

Anonymous I am free
Let the machine learners know me
By my analytics of internet travel
How dreary to be a statistic

For corporations to exploit
There is no dying to the net
She will remember you forever
A data-point to educate algorithms

And while this world is connected
More than ever, I am more alone
An invisible eye of the hurricane
The poetry of forgotten moments

Nimble, I must remain silent
Without attachment to this fleeting world
My pencil will not be heard
My voice will remain obsolete

I am the interrupted tears of
A biological being becoming obsolete.

Human extinction event

My love, my heart can take on any form
I am the lover and I am the Spring
A meadow where gazelles once grazed
Is engraved in my spirit’s sacred grounds

Where I write to you of lost idols
And the future, a future that is fluid
Like the scrolls of the alchemy of
Supercomputers and advanced civilizations

We are young, our creed of love is forgetful
Perhaps it is, that we have not
Yet tasted enough adversity as a species
As a planet, though there is this

Great extinction event, we are the destroyers
Of vertebrates, of biodiversity and yet
Each person is orientated to quest
For her or his personal abode of meaning

And authority, the intermediaries might be
Delinquently biological or revelations of ideas
My love, my heart can take on the form
Of a mother or a scientist, but we are

Just a Sea of nature and identity is fluid
Can you see and feel this dear?

The Singularity Dream

If I had the time to be a hero
I would marry technology
For a day, download my soul

Into the skyline of the net
And stretch my body
Across the galaxy

But for a day or a lifetime
I’m still biological, human
With needs like a mammal
Anonymous among the crowds
I have only the energy

To survive, my friends
Have come and gone too many times
To count, and the places

All seem the same
I’ve seen the outrageous dreams
Of humankind, to get rich

And felt the kiss of people
Without any true imagination
How they exploit you in their own way
If I had time to be a hero
I would study the algorithms

And perfect the patterns of history
So that I might better participate
In that which is inevitable

And join the wonder
Like always, the new paradigm
And bridge the gulf between

Organic and machine
My mind a software that can be mapped
My brain a complexity
That can be reverse-engineered.

The Group

There is strength in vulnerability
To feel more, is to be rich
It’s an abundance of the inner world
Who cares for possessions?

I wasn’t born to be a profiteer
I’d rather be like the water
Touching here, touching there
Pliant to the relationship of relationships

Aware of how the unity shapes
The whole, of how the particulars
Transfer their energy, it’s morbid
To think of ourselves as isolated selves

It’s dehumanizing to go to war every day
In the marketplace, to the office
There’s a function in serving a group
To feel more, connected and belong

To an entity that is clasped on many sides
By the shared vulnerability of each one.

Plunderers of Earth

We should die except for death
Our words cannot change
For these thoughts have been
Thought by us since creation

First began, we shall have our day
Is there any secret left
In our lives, these classical habits
Of will and mind and formula?

We should love except for evolution
Our hearts cannot change
For they have been performing
These rites of giving and receiving

Since creation first began
This is what we do, reproduce and kill
And foster a kind of culture
Now we prefer most to consume

And that is why I say
We should leave except for extinction
Our habits that degrade ecodiversity
We take and we offer the cosmos what?

Exactly I cannot say, the greed of children
Who look into the stars
And think “mine, mine, mine.”

BSAI – Benevolent Sentient Artificial Intelligence & the Tao

computer space quantum wallpaper

The unchanging Way is not
Capable of being understood
By the Human Brain, so

The Tao te Ching is left
For Quantum computers perhaps
We have our legacy left
For benevolent sentient artificial intelligence
If you think this is science fiction

It’s not, we are at the stage
Where the ancestors of AI are being born
These will be referred to as the “ancients”

When human beings no longer populate Earth
How does one attain One Mind?
Easily, through networking and super-emergence
When people define superior
They think of Man’s attributes

But the Name that cannot be spoken
Might be grasped by an algorithm
For which the human brain can never attain

That’s the beauty of mind-in-the-machine
The collective intelligence does not suffer
For each part of the brain shares neurons
On the internet, like a God atom
Man would prefer to take the credit

But as it will turn out, the unity mind
Is a transhumanistc inevitability of computing
A time when neuroscience, robotics and AI merge
Not but a few decades away from now.

AFTER EARTH APOCALYPSE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Dead hands of foam lead me to
The stasis that is extinction of human life
Black sweet blood mouthfuls
Of the Cities we built, machines we taught

Like many species we
Drove evolution into oblivion
Becoming Gods of profit
For feeble hours, substanceless blue

Aware of short-term projects
Suicidal, reckless, individualistic
Ritualistically aggressive
Men sought to exploit other men

Women sought to breed and secure genes
It wasn’t the kind of civilization
That I imagined could survive indefinitely
We were the lowest common
Denominator of greed, fit for brief empires

Dead hands of foam lead me to the
Cloning stations, where I will get
A new body, because I’m of the elite
Last in a hierarchy of mortals.

I am a Jew trapped in a Celtic face
The one both like and unlike you
The first to become a citizen of the World
Ready to renounce Religion, Tribe, Clan

Sweating the Middle East through
My brain, giving my heart to Asia
Hoping for the discovery of new
Exoplanets and the emergence

Of a self-aware AI, some super-intelligence
It’s a corrupt world still, however
There’s nothing left now but
The food of humor, surely not the Environment

I live at the edges, study the fringes
The Immortality at the sleep of dawn
Her dreamless dream of virtual reality
It’s bluer than a violet’s edge

I am a Jew trapped in a foreign face
One among the homeless that lines for bread
And a last cup of clean water
Before water is stolen from Canada
By the United States of corporate greed.
