Intro to Nihilism

Screen Shot 07-01-15 at 11.18 AM

Self coward I’ve taken away the plumage
Gone naked, cold and flocked by doubt
I’ve given salt, cheese, my heart away
In wine I’ve tasted the thorny planet’s desolation

I’ve cringed at the noteworthy failures
Of Earth, my home, this arrogant star
These men lusting after power, so brutal
I’ve see the throngs scramble after banks

* * *

Went bankrupt and countries got stoned
I’ve seen propaganda of empires
Make a people crumble and become ignorant
I’ve left kingdoms of so called riches

To live in places more ethical and aligned
With the ideals that belong to the future
Shamed by existence, I’ve met my share
Of suffering, toil, regret, despondency

* * *

I have nothing left to say, death is what it is
Time will break our arrogance, the species killer
Will one day find a way to destroy itself
As humans expand in more meaningless dimensions.

The Last Nature poem….

18

And indeed there will be time

Drink deep of quietness
Solitude is the calmer mist
This drunken slumber of nature
Always adapting, always seeking compromise

Delicate eco-systems of the valley
Glimmers of the noises of the night
Margins of the Sea, millions of years
Of history, feverish only for thousands

Of species recently gone extinct
The great human extinction of biodiversity
That’s the real news of this world
Earth, whose primal glory was the mother

Who provided when we were mere nomads
Before cities, before billions, before money
Drink deep of quietness
If the future will be a return to the past

We do not know, or shall it
Be a return to the stars, we cannot say
There are galaxies where we are known
Or, more properly, where our

Descedents are known, they are patient
Not like us, who seek profit only
In the short-term, mere years of instinct
However, there exist also dimensions
Where we have already destroyed ourselves.

Prince of worlds

52

The world is not conclusion
She rides the glory and tragedy
Leaving us behind no doubt
A descendent divinity

History a symphony of positives
In a life of necessary suffering
We have no shame, generations
Of maladies, cancer of the Planet

We have no guilt, ecological terrorists
To breed into the billions
Imagine the height of arrogance!?
As the oceans die, in a philosophy of next

Permafrost is melted into the atmosphere
The world is not a conclusion
She is a star among trillions
Her philosophy is ancient

Extinction is not worrisome for her
She has seen a million species scar her planet
But none like us, none like when
Mars was once full of life

We’ll do it again in no time
But will we make it to other worlds?
That is the love affair with time
To survive, we do what we do

In order to survive, for this
God does not have to exist
Or any myth in fact, but it’s helpful
To imagine life as an ambush of bliss

Heaven but a moment away
For reality is an expensive privilege
For which I have outgrown in labour
It may be a forgone conclusion that

We die, but in piercing earnest
The life after death must be a treat
It’s hard to be surprised anymore
In jest, let’s believe in what we please.

21st Century Lamps of Fire

20

We watched the centuries celebrate
The death of the last century
We followed the living flame of love

As the youth again learned
What we sought, as they followed
What we once dreampt

As the generations succumbed
To the delightful wound of progress
Time would not wait

It would only light a fire
That our spirits might strive
For the sweet encounter

With the mystical idea of the future
Not only with debts and grim promises
Of a fabled virtual world-economy

The splendour drove us forward
Hurtling ourselves into the
Speed of change, relearning

How to learn, re-questioning
Things we hadn’t questioned
Since we were young

Degrees became obsolete
Just the profiteering of institutions
Free online universities opened up

We didn’t always know how
To plan for the next century
We seemed primed to live

Day by day, quite exquisitely
In the present, nearly unable
To plan the secrets of our next week.

Disinherited Europe

To Spain, Greece, France and Italy These decades are birds of passage The years overwhelm with Information, change, economy instability I hear the beat of the future Hang low in the dewy atmosphere With a beat of glowing snow I … Continue reading

The Black Riders of the World Government

Pursuing the horizon
I was disturbed by futility

In all the splendour of the worlds
This is what we became

Making quaint progress
Heeding outdated hierarchies

Yes, I heard a thousand tongues
Calling doom, heralded by economic collapse

There were no soft gardens
In these troubled times

The speed of change allowed
Second travelers with us

Pursing the future was not
The open answers of kind eyes

But a monarchy of sterner kingdoms
Than the Earth had ever known.
