Visionary Moment

59

We were enclosed by
Synchronicity, an hour
Of tremendous divinity

And I forgot myself there
As if forever, as if I never existed
And it was luminous

I existed there without self
We were as if an entire plant
The universe was an organism

And light left us blessedness
In all directions, like fish
In a nourishing sea

And my petals were parts of you
And your scent was a part of me
And I was wholly consumed

In grace, with cheeks of the sun
Pale as a transparent bud
My heart was divine light

Where I did not seek to understand
But lost myself in beloved infinite identity
And to you, I had only tenderness.

Solemnize Me

2

I’ve learned art by poverty
In Meagre famine
This cup of spirituality

Acquired in reverse
With troubled questions
Explored undiscovered

Continents, no settler
Had in mind –
I’ve learned time by

Glowing years of Hands
Made empty, dust
Did scoop itself

In my loving eyes
Until waters wrecked
The skies, and leaves

Did hurry slow
To the royal regard
Of Angel scars.

Notes on World War III

11

God and all angels sing the world to sleep
For the end of the world is man made
With the blue tongue of greed, control
The Moon burns in the mind of history

Where war and politics are the domain of the corrupt
Staring, at midnight, into the Angel of Death
A catastrophic power play of midget nations
Yet life is itself, the fulfillment of petty desires

Money, the pillow of the head in the dark
Power, the bent over guitar of the green day
Organics thick-lipped, riot and rebel
For a new world that cannot be born

Till the old world dies of its own inflation
God and all angels sing the world to sleep
That we might die, for others to take our place.
