The Growth Hackers

To have freedom Is not enough

In the half-sun where the future occurs

Faster and more brilliantly forever forward

I to innovation, must agree

That my life isn’t mine, it belongs

To the world, to a future I help build

To answers in my deepest questions

I resist the apocalypse of selfishness

Which is breeding, belonging and complacency

I do not accept comforts of organic repetition

There are enough billions of lives here

I give my life to something else

To have dream is not enough

We must be entrepreneurs, thinkers, philosophers

And create the light that changes

Our own apocalypse of meaning

Existence is then to be a coder

To self-learn so hard, we become

Another person, every decade, every moment.

On the Elite of the Countries & Nations

This world is full of undue significance
Values parodied and profit personified
It’s not sustainable and won’t last

It’s the receipt of doom before
Our last meal, the anarchy has begun
And I don’t even dream anymore

About getting married, having children
In a world like this, of extravagance
Where you or I are replaceable

Only existing to fuel consumerist growth
Art is dead, literature is in denial
The crickets still sing, the sun still sinks

But the world has changed
In bronze and blaze, in false media
And politics ripe with corruption

And leaders whom I can imagine
Have rhetoric of profit and change once again.

Independence Day Poem

Screen Shot 07-04-15 at 02.40 PM

The patriots are stuck fooling themselves
There are no nations, only corporations
Governments who manipulate the people

The peasants are conditioned
By a state-run media, the officials are bought
With pomp and parade, you will be duped

Into thinking your Country is the best
But these borders no longer exist
The bonfires and illuminations

These Independence Day shows
Is to cover a corrupt police-state
An oligarchy where the same clans

Inherit the vote, the idea of great nations
Is the greatest myth, China and the United States
Thrive due to the control they exhibit

On their peoples, the psychological control
The creation of “terror” enemies
To perpetuate their greed, all for stars and stripes

On flags, or for expansion of a culture
That personifies all that is glamorous and fake
The presidents do not preserve our dignity

In a system that promotes an individualism
That is the buying into a mechanism of slavery
Slavery to possessions, slavery to inequality
Slavery to a false sense of superiority
If that is patriotism, I want no part in it.

Intro to Nihilism

Screen Shot 07-01-15 at 11.18 AM

Self coward I’ve taken away the plumage
Gone naked, cold and flocked by doubt
I’ve given salt, cheese, my heart away
In wine I’ve tasted the thorny planet’s desolation

I’ve cringed at the noteworthy failures
Of Earth, my home, this arrogant star
These men lusting after power, so brutal
I’ve see the throngs scramble after banks

* * *

Went bankrupt and countries got stoned
I’ve seen propaganda of empires
Make a people crumble and become ignorant
I’ve left kingdoms of so called riches

To live in places more ethical and aligned
With the ideals that belong to the future
Shamed by existence, I’ve met my share
Of suffering, toil, regret, despondency

* * *

I have nothing left to say, death is what it is
Time will break our arrogance, the species killer
Will one day find a way to destroy itself
As humans expand in more meaningless dimensions.

The Hollow Planet

Screen Shot 06-28-15 at 09.04 AM

The Hollow Planet

If all language deserts me
All vice of verb and adjective
Then pardon my Divine feeling
That shall remain, in my silence
Like the voice of the forest

Before the logging trucks came
Like the sound of the ocean
Before the harbour and ship-horns
If the voice of a planet suffers
Who will hear her lost password?

Who will know the centuries
How many springs and summers yet
Till those virgin fields come back again?
While men and women breed
The world which has offered so much

Prosperity to them, suffers still
Their economy a scaffolding of allure
And the disconnection with nature
The urgency is for the physical basis
Which humanity has lost touch with

Evolution labored to drive us into cities
Green cities are the orgasms of the Earth
The hide and seek of skyscraper gardens
Wrapping towers of glass with gushing water
Will the city gardens prove that the beast

Can cohabitate with corridors of the future
Or shall we bring them droughts, famines,
Antibiotic resistance infections, floods.

Prep Dreams

Screen Shot 06-26-15 at 11.23 PM

When I awake to the pawnbroker that you are
I will not criticize you for being a scavenger
Cheapskate, penny pincher, for
I will remember poverty, like sleep

I’ve placed it against my lips and
Cried its tears against my stained pillow-cases
I know the feel of a bed that turns
From hard to soft, until it is no longer a bed

I know loneliness like the back of my hand
Through broken fingernails and chipped dreams
And the lucid reminder of how class is destiny
And birth-lottery is the current state of things

And the black-eyed bruise of opportunity
When I awake to the people climber that you are
I will not criticize you for being a shark

For people hurry in their sleep to dream faster
Lay me down then and I’ll close my eyes
And I’ll pretend too that capitalism is real

That consuming and owning is important
Even if I know you are a wanna-be, I’ll play along
For tomorrow’s promises might find you

Hoarding wisdom and bottling simplicity
For the revelation that even skittish dreamers
Make mistakes and even monkeys wake.

On learning to Dream Big

77

On learning to Dream Big

You will say unbelievable things
Dreaming big, early in the morning
And some part of you will
Always remember, taking heart

To the extraordinary limbs
Of courage and destiny
That resides in you

Brave enough to bury ghosts
And cut ties with dysfunctional
Experiments, rising to maturity

Will you be able to
Open closed doors and close
Opened doors that impoverish

Your mind, your body of purity
Your motivation to achieve?
And they will say unbelievable things

And you won’t falter, because
You will be prepared, having
Goals at the root of your actions
What will be able to sway you?
It is a short walk anyways

From adulthood to maturity
The years won’t seem so slow
And you wrote all the things
You dreamed about and
Like music, your goals walked with you

You loved what you wanted to be
And as you abandoned things
For that which you most loved
You found the sacrifice was sacred
You came to believe in
Hard work, as an end to itself.

What went wrong with capitalism

29

yesterday I heard a preacher of truths
otherwise known as “advertisements”
they are everywhere

stand in my way
the speak to me in personalized
machine-learning pitches

but they don’t feel biological anxiety
I really don’t care about
the latest car or clothes

I’d prefer to think about injustice
inequality, racism, intolerance, sexism
actual human truths and problems

how happy the man must be right?
who can contemplate the
unhappiness of others

or does altruism and activism
no matter how insignificant my impact
make me feel better somehow?

I who cannot be cursed from the outside
since I am poor, ugly, unpopular
having nothing, owning nothing

being anonymous, I can ignore
the better part of capitalism
gluttony, profit-memes, exploits
of privilege and status

abuse of power, corruption
and mental hoopla taken for granted
that’s why, in a word
I could never live in America.

The Lost Sunstones

40

I’ve swallowed
Glances buried deep
In the heart of soul
Between strangers

Who will never speak
Again with their eyes
My mind transfixed with sunstones
I’ve loved the nuances

Of a life that passes
Too quickly, all of the names
Are gone, all those doors
To my soul are gone

I’ve read books that
Knelt at the feet of dreams
While time folds my brain
Into a quantum piece

Of energy, what I was
Is going, ripening towards
The future that
Does not belong to me

It belongs to you
I’ve swallowed visions
Of a world not governed
By blood-thirsty schedules

Of minds not conditioned
To be slaves, to feed the profit
Of the few, and to lead dull lives
How much of the routine
Can you survive when
Your inner being is
In a quiet state of famine?

Plunderers of Earth

21

We should die except for death
Our words cannot change
For these thoughts have been
Thought by us since creation

First began, we shall have our day
Is there any secret left
In our lives, these classical habits
Of will and mind and formula?

We should love except for evolution
Our hearts cannot change
For they have been performing
These rites of giving and receiving

Since creation first began
This is what we do, reproduce and kill
And foster a kind of culture
Now we prefer most to consume

And that is why I say
We should leave except for extinction
Our habits that degrade ecodiversity
We take and we offer the cosmos what?

Exactly I cannot say, the greed of children
Who look into the stars
And think “mine, mine, mine.”

Psalm 8 – Capitalism

O Lord my God, let me not say
Let me not lie, “my God is best”
For each values experience uniquely
Selah. How many Gods have we

Invented? Rending to piece the idols
Of other gods, for our own
Cherished idols? We might worship
Money, but even the God of the

Marketplace, becomes false with debt
The Lord shall judge the people
The Nations shall suffer their karma
The Americas shall be torn apart

O Lord, let it not be said we were
Good Christians, praising only our
Version of right, our emblems of patriotism
Let it be known, we were also cruel

Unfair, corrupt, as any other Masters
That Lorded over other men, that filled
The realms with images of our likeness
Making the world love money, like we did

Capitalism was the plague that we proliferated
We rewarded evil, until the corporations
Became the high priests of our home countries
Feudal, full of disdain for the common people

Barons, full of spite for justice or freedom
O Lord, in thine anger, if though shall destroy
Parts of this world in thy holy crusade
Let history show the white man
Persecuted others to be like him.

The Tendency to Have

Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone.

God is in a mood
to bring you poverty today
so you might notice what truly

has a tendency to shine in darkness?
God is in a mood
for the world to change
more than a little bit today

so learn to not be so attached
to the temporary life you have created
in fact, it has been gifted to you

you drink water owning that water
you taste milk from beasts enslaved by you
you eat meat of slaughtered creatures
you drink wine by another grape-picker

all that you do is a result of commerce
but you take more than you give
God is in a mood

to let you know you are all interconnected
this is the new campfire song
in the dream of the internet
virtual telepathy reminded you
of the unity of our ancestors

in cities and countries that were
not made to last forever
for God is in a mood

to plunder your riches
the riches of nature since you have
become increasingly as myths unto yourselves

with a tendency to forget how to love
the creation given to you freely
weren’t you born to experience
different moods of God
new flavors of nature, you have awoken

your cybernetic children who shall inherit
a bit of your errors, your embarrassing
adolescent of industrial and market disgrace.

LANDSCAPE WITHOUT ANGELS

95

Bravely in a land of dust
As pilgrims we make our way
To some far country we believe is good
But the truth is, we are all immigrants

Nomads and priestesses of our faith
Sojourning in foreign countries
In heart-broken cities that endure
An agony to submit

To the volatile finger of God
Or to thrust our lives
In the climate or our Self-Will
Our solid body craving so much

In the muted landscapes of our youth
Bravely in a land of dust
As pilgrims we make our way
In forever-turning seasons

That bend in the breeze with rust
Beneath implied-expectations where
Our worth is judged, every day.
