To The place-names of the Future

You soul, are terrifying and strange
And beautiful with the spirit of poetry
When you weep, everyone knows
How to love and regret and want
Leaning on the balcony railing
Of literature, is enough to be read

If you know how the universe holds
Itself together, with the hands of
The downtrodden sharing, and the
Masters hoarding and profiting
There is no revolution that lasts

Corporations become the new feudal kingdoms
Holding monopolies like Google or Apple
Mere footnotes in the future I am sure
You soul, make up your own destiny
And that’s what I am here to witness

How patient is language, waiting
To be reborn in ovals open all day
To live behind sunblinds and countrysides
And to be spoken on new planets
Where restless silence no longer

Must hug the barren innocence
Of uninhabited landscapes
You soul, are wild and terrifying
And in your sovereign intensity
I think I’ve been changed by your advertisements
The archaic bleached faces of who we were.

Plunderers of Earth

21

We should die except for death
Our words cannot change
For these thoughts have been
Thought by us since creation

First began, we shall have our day
Is there any secret left
In our lives, these classical habits
Of will and mind and formula?

We should love except for evolution
Our hearts cannot change
For they have been performing
These rites of giving and receiving

Since creation first began
This is what we do, reproduce and kill
And foster a kind of culture
Now we prefer most to consume

And that is why I say
We should leave except for extinction
Our habits that degrade ecodiversity
We take and we offer the cosmos what?

Exactly I cannot say, the greed of children
Who look into the stars
And think “mine, mine, mine.”

Psalm 14 – Patriarchy

54

God is our final interpretation
Of Nature, we are bred to follow
Meanwhile, the corrupt lead us
The fool hath said in his heart

There is no God, no true authority
The World’s destruction of nature
Is not of God, but of Man
Man alone in this world is self-righteous

Oh that salvation has many forms
Every freedom is a new kind of slavery
Until the machine shall imprison him
Have all the workers of this earth

A blindness to their leaders, the lack
Of true leaders, whose mandate is
To protect women, children and nature?
And to empower the children of men

Let God be our witness, the decline of
Civilization, that cared not for the
Long-term education, but rather
Sought profit and exposed humanity
To abominable risks in our evolution.

Psalm 13 – Oppression

Help, Lord; for this world is coming
To a halt, spreading disease masks
The debt, that cannot go on
The Lord shall cut off all fattening lips

This possession of the riches by the few
Who is lord over us, the oppressed poor
Are too ignorant to fight
Help, Lord; for tyrants now rule

The Earth, controlling everything
Democracy lives but as a myth, a figment
Of a name, the Banks and Corporations
Oppress the common people from every side

The true unemployment rate strikes 23%
But the Politicians hide the truth
From the people, on so many turns
Help, Lord; the few control more and more

Of how the world lives, and how
Many of our planet shall die.

Psalm 8 – Capitalism

O Lord my God, let me not say
Let me not lie, “my God is best”
For each values experience uniquely
Selah. How many Gods have we

Invented? Rending to piece the idols
Of other gods, for our own
Cherished idols? We might worship
Money, but even the God of the

Marketplace, becomes false with debt
The Lord shall judge the people
The Nations shall suffer their karma
The Americas shall be torn apart

O Lord, let it not be said we were
Good Christians, praising only our
Version of right, our emblems of patriotism
Let it be known, we were also cruel

Unfair, corrupt, as any other Masters
That Lorded over other men, that filled
The realms with images of our likeness
Making the world love money, like we did

Capitalism was the plague that we proliferated
We rewarded evil, until the corporations
Became the high priests of our home countries
Feudal, full of disdain for the common people

Barons, full of spite for justice or freedom
O Lord, in thine anger, if though shall destroy
Parts of this world in thy holy crusade
Let history show the white man
Persecuted others to be like him.

The Tendency to Have

Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone.

God is in a mood
to bring you poverty today
so you might notice what truly

has a tendency to shine in darkness?
God is in a mood
for the world to change
more than a little bit today

so learn to not be so attached
to the temporary life you have created
in fact, it has been gifted to you

you drink water owning that water
you taste milk from beasts enslaved by you
you eat meat of slaughtered creatures
you drink wine by another grape-picker

all that you do is a result of commerce
but you take more than you give
God is in a mood

to let you know you are all interconnected
this is the new campfire song
in the dream of the internet
virtual telepathy reminded you
of the unity of our ancestors

in cities and countries that were
not made to last forever
for God is in a mood

to plunder your riches
the riches of nature since you have
become increasingly as myths unto yourselves

with a tendency to forget how to love
the creation given to you freely
weren’t you born to experience
different moods of God
new flavors of nature, you have awoken

your cybernetic children who shall inherit
a bit of your errors, your embarrassing
adolescent of industrial and market disgrace.

AFTER EARTH APOCALYPSE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Dead hands of foam lead me to
The stasis that is extinction of human life
Black sweet blood mouthfuls
Of the Cities we built, machines we taught

Like many species we
Drove evolution into oblivion
Becoming Gods of profit
For feeble hours, substanceless blue

Aware of short-term projects
Suicidal, reckless, individualistic
Ritualistically aggressive
Men sought to exploit other men

Women sought to breed and secure genes
It wasn’t the kind of civilization
That I imagined could survive indefinitely
We were the lowest common
Denominator of greed, fit for brief empires

Dead hands of foam lead me to the
Cloning stations, where I will get
A new body, because I’m of the elite
Last in a hierarchy of mortals.

RELIGION OF WEALTH

3

i

Impurity is to live unnaturally
The messengers of death come for us
With your pharmaceuticals and life-insurance
Have you made provision
For the journey friends?

ii

Like withered leaves from too much pleasure
What have we truly given to the world?
Your life will one day come to an end
And the habits of your transgressions
Will be mimicked in other lives

iii

As a civilization consumes forests, oil, iron, coal
As a world is enroached by one
Dominant predatory species
Impurity is to engineer artificiality

iv

Men will place computers in their brains
And create beings to magnify his instincts
For dominion, pleasure, greed, profit
Progress for a few entitled countries

v

All exalted by the Corporations
Impurity is to follow injustice free from civic duty
To equality, living without compassion

vi

In the pursuit of wealth as dogma
In the profit of the few, over the many, as ritual;
There is no conscience in greed
Cloaked in self-determination
No true merit, in elitist inheritance.
