Into the Stars

Into the Stars

An everywhere of silver

An everywhere of love

That’s what life is, in essence

A unity of being and becoming

Until I becomes we

And we becomes us

With breath to track the land

And a heart to hold the sky

And morning lit with a bud

Of breaking sunlight in the eyes

An everywhere of gold

An everywhere of eyes

That’s what life is, the melody

Of a trillion echoes of lives

A unity of hope

Until diversity revolts

We are splinter colonies

Lifting our little girls to the stars.

God Lives in the World like we Do

One must be very particular about
Giving everything to the grace
The Universal decides our fate

Through surrender one can realize God
Whatever God might be at the time
A man is truly free when she knows

Her true nature, and follows it –
For to discard our truth would be
To lie to ourselves and deprive the world

Of what we were truly meant to be:
One must be very particular about love
Giving our love to the Divine in us

It’s not a question of desire or beloveds
It’s a question of listening to the Universal
Through selfless work, loving the world
One can talk to God as I’m talking to you.

Consolation

Consolation, you are nothing
That ends unhappily
You are the last resort
When all paths have been tried
After divorce, after bankruptcy

You know dear, I would say it again:
Thank you, I’m sorry, forgive me, I love you
If anything like true friendship turns up
I’ll have to remind myself
Of the days I felt suicide was my best option

Consolation, are you a person?
Or are you a state of being, perceiving, loving?
You are my new wonder
Of the curiosity of a thousand lives
The Sadhana, at the great core of it all

Consolation, do not laugh at my bad breath
When I have yet the world to give
I may be an impoverished fool
But I have a good heart, I mean well.
