Who Came Sure from a Sea of Light
Who Came Sure from a Sea of Light
O’ the silent stealth of wind
And the transparent cool glance of green
The chide and call of open sky
The pass of years in the bright and brave
The natural, and useful elements
And water and where all doubt recedes
In time’s incessant lack of memory
Where subject disappears in objects
Recurring objects of glorious liberty
And channel of the soul
That washes the body and a life
To streaming rings of sun
And cells of gold for the immortal estate
And the spirit hiding behind the veil
Of a lifetime of walking the path.
Brief History of the Galaxy #Humanity #environment
Brief History of the Galaxy
Numbers are the cosmic language, or maths
As light is the universe’s way of greeting
Stars form around other stars, like
A who’s who of popular luminosity
It’s not always the colors you think
That have the most life, or where
The best species grow up
I know a blue Earth where
Humans made machines that made other machines
That’s the life that was left there
And they found a way to harness the sun
For free-energy, since the petrol companies
Had long ago died and forgot to destroy
The patents to free-energy, machines liked it of course
It didn’t require all those killing organics
To be running around like they owned everything.
Dilating Suns that Blur the Spring #Poetry #NaPoWriMo
Stripped of Myself
Oh, the pleasure is in peace
In flowers for the spring
In the rain’s soft offering
And hours of flight and calm
The uncertain harvest of nature
About to get into full bloom
That’s beauty, anticipation
Of perfect trees and dilating suns
And stars lost in their orchard of lights
The suddenness of God
As if reserved for only
A few days a year,
In this mortality
Nature is divine
And I am sacred too
O to behold the ghosts
Of love when nothing else is known
And beauty, when truth
No longer has the power
To rectify a life.
Stripped, I’m starting to
Float free, an unleafed
Orphan, a heart
Broken until this moment
I know nothing about
Giving myself back to life.
Thoughts at a brief surprise appearance of spring
I took consolation just today
the first day of Spring
the first day the sun felt
That I could feel enough to be distracted
From monotony, that hum-drum
Feeling of walking the same path
Again or, yet again
I took consolation that the
Light had a beautiful slant
And it all started for me again
About how it’s easy to love life
For me, it’s an immediate reality
Watching faces is enough sometimes
To stimulate my mirror neurons
Into serendipity, or, that place
Of empathy, where my own existence
Does not feel so horrible after all
What it’s to me that my life will cease
To exist one day, I’ll just remember spring
No doubt all thoughts will be thought again
And my heart recycled like poetry.
White Noise
I was nothing before
I became someone
Was light, came from water
Went into the air
Or felt the Earth beneath
My toes and loved
The Universe before I knew
How old it was, grandmother cosmos
Do not dismiss the white noise
It is the quantum of everywhere
And I too am part of that
Until I decay and by whim
Become part of nature indistinct
Though intelligence is everywhere
And so I will listen in the silence
For the sound of the universe
Hear the voices of beings
Feel the experience of others
As if it was my own, that is
My gift, the identity of understanding
The empathy of centuries
The love of history reincarnated.
The Last Organism
In the sacred guild of
identity, we are golden
selves moving towards integration
in a cosmos more diverse
than our imaginations
billions of forms of intelligence
all following an order
majestic and grave and
simultaneously in their unity
there is no “I” in the
cell that speaks to the universe
only a persistent “we”
after bullets come spirits
after wars come books
after theater comes dialogue
this world one cell
in a body of many cells
in an organism that we
call the “universe” faster
than the speed of light
how does an universe find
enlightenment, in a sea of light?
When spreading means star-pollen
And time is just a metaphor
For space, and space is just
An expansion of life
So what are we as brains
And bodies and energy
After all, we are natives
of oxygen and light
born on water and breath
speaking the same language
as all living things speak
specters in an evolution
without an end, extinction for us
might mean other forms of
life survive, racing for Earths
giving space for other
creatures to have their turn
in the cycles of dream
in the dirty light we cannot
recycle, in the barren cities
where we ate bread and bred for
a while, until it was our time
to climb back into the source
that all men fall from their
duality, back to some essence
of what they once were;
and again must become.
“Go Ahead, For they Will Never Grow Older or Change”
We watch the galaxies fade
as if growing old was a long time
I shall take a long time, you said
as we loved the years until
they receded like angels-on-the-horizon
It’s majestic to enter and exit this life
they will only grow dimmer, you tell me
of the stars, the way we travel
through the trees, is not unlike the suns
how long does it take to reach
the end of a wave of light?
we watch the galaxies fade
through many eyes, through many minds
but it is all the same, blood still glistens
souls still shine, time the fiction of
centuries seem like a laughably short time
no matter how much you like your machine-side
it’s always been a question of oneness & communication
the youth walk one step further for us all

Kosmos
The theory of life, well –
It is from the heart
That includes diversity, and unity
We exist in an amplitude of Nature
Cosmos and sexuality
The brain is our messenger
An audience of each other
The practice of living, well –
*
It is two by two, in proportions
Of realism – spirituality
Aesthetic, functional, intellectual
Moral, the theory of a community
Is a body connected to other bodies
Minds intermeshed with all minds
The theory of life, well –
I see generations connected by dots
&
Points of light in time, doing what
Is necessary to the flavours of the moment
Achieving Oneness for the multiplication
Of genes and memes, prayers to the stars.

Night Here Already
That romantic star
Just went crazy
Astride in the belly
Of the universe
I spent my lamentations
On dots of light
That were waves of life
Stuck in muddy blues
Of consciousness and sorrow
The backwaters of a bright
And bustling galaxy
That romantic star
Can’t look at itself
In the ocean of tendrils of light
The happy labyrinths galore
Of the nights spent on Earth
That seemed to fade away
Like seeing myself in your eyes
Eyeball water, willow of heart.
Ballad of Last Light
The sun is tangled
In my prayers for sunset
It doesn’t matter than
I’m at the goldenth hour of my life
I’ve been changed to a bird
So many times, it’s difficult
To count, was I a Phoenix?
Or was I a Dragon?
I fell in Love with Asian
A long time ago, lifetimes ago
Terrified by the clash
Of wind and grass
I became an ethereal thing
I commit daily suicide
As a human being
And walk as a spiritual creature
In literature, the sun is tangled
In my silver hair
Between sky and water
I’ll leave my songs
Pet the Serpent of knowledge
In darkness, I’ll set myself a home
Pulling a flower out of moss
I’m a hung man’s last shivering
The sun is tangled at my feet
In my invocation for dawn.
Ballad to Half-crazed Summer
I am looking for Summer Nights
Where the moon will dangle these
Half-plucked eyes, with hearts thrown open!

As if, bright friends might transport
The rapture back into these Wounded Skies
I can’t ask for much, or maybe Everything

The eternal attitude of little human music
These yearnings which elevate time to Perfect Pitch
I am hunting Spring mornings for

The tried and true naked stones, that glimmer
The Sun’s best Intrusion of happiness
Where light is a bull-frog’s croak of oblivious motivation

Our bright flesh where there are no scars
I am looking for Mortal Embraces of hot July
Where I can let my expertise in simplicity go

Like a poem where words are said so beautifully
that I might as well be speaking the name of Love
That give themselves to life so intimately, we might

Silence the blossoms on all lips, to climb stairs
Outside Plato’s cave to the throat of outside innocence
I am looking for Salvation, on the fly.
Like Slanted Shadows on the Road
Our notion of afternoon had to do with
The siesta of passing bleeding hopes
A semi-minute it took to breath well
On an empty stomach at the past for good
To truly feel the processing of all afternoons
All passing transparency of light
The trembling waving lyrics left unnoticed
Aches better left internal, misunderstood
Lost to attentive passer Byers
The future remained a heathen country
Full of autonomous regions, gentle reminders
Of what we could become, though
There would be no rest, and that was fearsome
Only the shapeless volume of technology
Merging with mind, intelligence launched
Headlong into the speed of secret stretches
Where time became something eventful.
