Solution to a Mystical Book of Epigrams

1

The circle of our coming and our going
Melts here in infinite knowing
Such that has no beginning
Or shall maybe ever have an end

For no one can ever in this world explain
The love that bears the pain
Through centuries of the Keeper
Who arranges the body of this universe

That nothing is truly good or evil
It just is what it is and evolves
Finally to decay and start again
I leave a drunkard of time and place

And holy tears stream my eyes
Not for my little portion of profit or children
Not for experience or her legacy of trials
But because I know everyone stands

In a limited place, without freedom
Only occasional moments of outbreaks
That might last but a few seconds
Of eternity, and so my days are spent

Circling and tracing the way back
To the source, as if in rehab from unity
I must accept this divided world
As a lonely place or as a solitude yearning

For another kind of bliss, I am friendless
Among so many people, so many routines
That barley have time to say or thought at all
If the one I love is God, do I need any friend?

What does the voice of love sound like?
A voice for everyone, sight-seeing
With Oneness to the left
Unity to the right

What does the voice of love sing about?
To those friends waiting in heaven?
What is its goal and who are its subjects?
What pure substance does the melody play

These instruments, our subtle chords of heart
What does the voice of love sound like?
To ancient ears, to ears of the young –
Yielding up soul to a world of maladies

Leaving out spirit in a corruption of greed
By morning bright, love’s alphabets keep
Speaking, no matter the country, or the time.

I’ve Grown Thin with Silver Love

77

I share a sacred decree
With all who have ever
Suffered the tremendous burdens
Of human mortality, we know

The same pains, the thirst
The horrible sensation of separation
I’ve bathed in it, studied it
I’ve rushed towards the Beloved One

With a torrent of flesh, blood, bones
Every organ in me has invested
In creating Divinity, in growing
More complete, more receptive

Compassion breathes into my ears
Until I listen, truly identify with
The stories from the four corners of the Earth
I want to know the world’s pain

I want my pride to be melted
My self-interest to be turned to good
I share a sacred decree
With all who know abandonment, death

Hardship, incapacity, doubts
Of human mortality, we know
The same ambiguities, inequalities
The horrible injustice of power

I’ve lived poor, I’ve known disease
Now I rush towards the Beloved One
On knees of prayer, with weapons of love.
