All these unspoken words are left over Feelings

Hae.mi, I want the secret intensity of collusion

Not that I know what fiery touches are, I who have done without

The touch of the body or the needs of men

And if, my body becomes no longer mine

Would I pretend to blame a muse I know so well

From the darkness of time, where someone calls me

Surely she has no wings, only words to say that I am scoundrel or throng

And I, faltering through the calls of art

Yearn not for unity, but for intensity’s brightest wick

Where loving is for the mind, and not the senses to burn

Hae.mi, what I have become that I require not

The agony of the heart to feel alive

Or an army of the loins to feel as if I should possess

I am not that kind of lover, anyways

Only the poet’s unseen hand, and the touch of the eyes

Sowing seeds of language, where I am blind

Hoping for friendship in the ambiguity between the genders

Gone is thus rippling radiant youth and her precocious lies

Through my curiosity is still as hungry as the dawns

That first looked jeweled upon thee, for divinity suckled

In the womb of all things valuable and lovely

Like a beautiful dream, where I witness you Hae.mi.

We are the same

We are the same

우리는 같은 정신을 가지고
(or we have the same spirit)

I cannot become the love
I eternally wanted to be
It wasn’t something I could understand
Get my head around, get my heart into

It wasn’t something I could feel all the way
It wasn’t something I knew
Totally how to give, or get
They say love is like the Tao

It’s a well that can never be dried up
It’s also like the eternal void
Full of new births, infinite possibilities
I meditated with the traces of it

Like lives with a spiritual tracing
So that I might inundate
My entire being in it
And If I disappeared for a while

It was only to complement
It’s omnipotent alchemy
And be submerged in its power of peace
I knew somehow vaguely that

Love was everything that exists
And also knew, I was more herself than she was
I was whatever our souls were made of
And hers and mine, well we were the same

We are the same, and sometimes
That’s all that can give me strength.

We returned through dying

36

We returned through dying

the stars held our memories
as we returned home broken
a bit more broken each day
that was us growing old

the pinning for the shores of energy
with mouths cracked
and limbs incapable
and a heart blue from winter nights

this carved relief of humble art
so that our private drama
could begin again
so very much having passed

in the space between our years
and so little known about
the universe scattered like
a marathon of light and the curved face

of galaxies and that collapsed
worlds that once were in time
all was mystery, all was sinking
with altars destroyed, friends forgotten

the harvests of our travels were now gone
our youth has punctured our souls
and our spirits raced
into the eyes of strangers

in the future we barely recognized
maybe descendants, maybe ourselves
reincarnated with different stories
wounded by my soil

her fingers against the blue scarf
of decades, the pomengrante
that broke was full of stars
skies, people, poems, poetry
a single gull cried in evening.

After Sappho

23

Death, does thou lie?
What lies beyond the breath
No bright reversion shalt

Thou gain, given a lifetime of faith
Death, be not so cold
After you, what can remain?

An extinction of what was once
A company of many friends
Or loneliness dies to itself

To be reborn in someone else
There was a time to wander here
To think of life’s empowerment

To learn, and laugh, and love
For some mortal months
Death, take me, subdue my story

With the ending fit for all hearts
It does not matter how we die
We shall die, and that’s art

It’s poetry to die and wonder
Thou bringest all endings here
Here to a universe of expanding light

With only time to gather or pluck
The shortest quivering sentiment
Of what it meant to live.

Fragment of a Corporeal Once Thing

18

my brain is wild

my breath comes quickly

I am dissolved in

such consuming ecstasies

none forgoes themselves

and none can forget

their spirit’s signature

the light within

which illuminates the possibilities

my heart is savage

my feelings attain repose

I am dissolved in

such consuming peace

meditation without limit

the universe within

all that I am is

a leaping fragment of existence

a blur in the resolving dark

my brain is golden

my touch is the forgotten legend

I disappear in the myth of being.

Karma Dragons

83

We all invent a face for ourselves
A life to lead, experiences
To intrinsically alter our
Soul’s DNA, our evolutionary quotient

We lived and died
And were reborn as other people
We all required a narrative
To live in order to get

Where we are going
That which is at the heart of learning?
We get wrinkles on our faces
Our wrinkles have no faces

We are a spirit luminous
Trembling in a garden of flesh
How the trees lean together
And whisper in the night

We should know social bonds
Not simple be, a single
Monotonous intensity of identity
But know, what we experience

Others experience, symmetrically
We all invent a life for ourselves
A path to tread, a body of experiences
The calligraphy of the birds

Or the dire poverty of
A marketplace exploited by others
We were animals with
Radiant hands, and still had

A good land for dreaming
And I still begged for moderation and simplicity
To be tied to time with a light thread.

Anthem & Alchemy

26

So this was Earth
Handfuls of light
Europe on reverb
Beaches covered with
Ancient jars like

Star-shells fragrant
With some golden empire
From which they came
I saw young bodies
Throbbing breasts

Heart-beats of infinity
Shells rose-pink
A blur of traffic
So this was Evolution
In the minds of

Organics where
Drifted thoughts
Of arms spread open
For the coupling of desire
These youth who

Would one day pair off
And the sky’s veins
Would not recall
Who was with who
Or how children came

Each has no handles
The waves touch
The pebbles each time
They curl on to the shore
Like time, formed by clay

They gather tools to
Change themselves
Civilized barbarians
Becoming barbaric once again
So this was Earth

I’d heard the stories
Souls that could not
Be unmade, they learned
And grew somehow
In a software of

Reincarnation, I knew
Their minds emptied
Death was beautiful
A simple reset and
And the slaughter of

Selfishness, what a sight
Wheat doesn’t take long
To ripen, sex doesn’t
Take long to become
But a whisper in a life

Desires melt away
Attachments drift
Hopes once so vital
Seemed secondary
Each dream separately

Lulled, like the birds
Who cry at morning
Going quiet, at the coming
Of the Sun, it was
Just natural, and perfect.

Self-Portrait of a Poet

18

I wish I was twenty and in love with life
And still wanted to change
To change the world
Inwards, old brain!

Who has the heart of a universe
There is no adversity
Only the opportunities
Given by evolution

Roses and blooming
For those who see God
In created things
I wish I was twenty and

So ready to make a self-portrait
That had dreams beyond ambition
And still wanted to love
The goodness of this world

Onwards, fantastic spirit!
We have lives for this yet
And hours, and days, and years.

Psalm 20 – Life Work

57

O Lord, I’ve seen creatures find salvation
In the manifestation of their life work
A destiny fulfilled in the prime
Of a person’s native potential

The full expression of their wisdom
The blessing of their goodness. Selah.
That’s the undeniable point of existence
A soul’s mission here on this planet

To learn and find an exalted cause
That gives one’s life a focus, a concentrated
Aim, it could be simple or even obvious
It could be a private endeavor gone unrecognized

Thou shalt bring each one to their light
O God, that burns with your strength in them
Let them find their native power and liberty
And their inner-sun through the trials

Let them eat the fruit of their attainments
Which gave the tribulations a context
And let their growth be the stepping stone
To future lives, a succession of incarnations

That develops a harmony of purpose
Across many bodies, in many stories
In the narrative of their power and experience
Be thou exalted in them Lord, in one way or another

That their nature might find the strength
To create their most potent source in matter
And energy, in lines of mind and symbols
In society, with the love they have leased
From eternity, for a mortal moment.

The Fever for a Cosmic Devotion

12

It is from God, so hear!
And to serve God you return
Not the God of your people
But the God that is universal

So good and with details for the whole
Of evolution, encyclopaedic
With a breath that is all-merciful
We learn to be compassionate

Through pure trials of suffering
And it’s not, that we are different after all
We share the same genes, similar stories
Carry a spirit in a body, harvest soul

In what we do, create, express, innovate
It is from God, so you see!
My Beloved, is the same as yours!
For none sees him except himself

That we all possess some page
Of the religion of love
Whatever way Love works in you
I follow the same path, I’m sure

And faith is but an approximation
Of the vibration, the quantum signature
That lights the way, my silence listens
My surrender is a practiced “letting go”

Maybe it took me lifetimes
To encompass inner beauty
These are the tears of the soul-forever
I could not forget the privilege.

Visions opened after a Human Lifetime

54

No and Yes
We’ve seen it all, this duality
The mind, body

The two syllables of love
If the world is real
We will have died
If the world is unreal
We will have lived

It’s the cleft between
All beginnings, and all ends
The male and female part of us

That speaks through all significant others
Talking about to us
What does it say?
Words are unreal
Experience evaporates

Silence rests all speech
Smiles foretell all energy
The exchange that does not end

With a you, or with a me
Unreality of form
Turning into spirit
Reality of spirit
Spilling into space-time

No and Yes
Free finally of
Exclamations, pauses and questions

Free to dizzily wander
The whirlwind and the flow
Fluid like there is no tomorrow
In the plaza of the mind
What is indeed possible?

Language like water
Between your breasts
Thrives for symbols

Objects & apparitions
Wood and stone
So much to commit to conversation
And so much a silent dialogue.

song of death

If you die you’re completely happy and your soul somewhere lives on. I’m not afraid of dying. Total peace after death, becoming someone else is the best hope I’ve got.
~ Kurt Cobain

47

The night, it is a path of stars
to which no visitor can wander
ankle-deep in the ocean

from forests to cities, to the sea
nobody can falter
though the night be deserted
though there be no shelter

i am not alone, i alone
can visit thee, in my
spirit’s secrecy

from my eternal spark
but i, am the one who holds you
i am not alone, this world
forgets its origins

all flesh is sad to see
but shone, or dark, or together
or alone, in solitary bliss

death the ticker loves the taker
who is the greatest lover
anti-mother who always remembers
i am not alone, let wind or salt
take me, dive me into final hours.

抒情詩 (lyrical poem)

41

i

We are asking for books which
Legends are made of, poems that are
Flowers at the bottom blue of lyricism
We felt the need for ritual acts
That respected the Volumes of the Earth
My time is precious, so is yours:

ii

Our nods of recognition were
The last living parts of poetry between
Our souls which would vanish
To other Planets, when we died
We are asking for books which
Dreams can dive into, poems that are

iii

After all, objects that have been loved
And lived fully, maybe the object of many loves
To have greatly admired stains of
Where words once lay, the honors
Of so much feeling like fragrance

iv

You will hold the stem, I will
Know the rose passing between humans
And the child that squeezes the fence
At the end of the story, that was enough
To make romantic poetry Immortal.

REINCARNATION & MEMORY

27

I

Forgetfulness is like a song,
So sweet as freedom’s Bell
When I forget my measures
I know I am living well Enough
Forgetfulness is like a Bird
Whose wings are reconciled
To the wind, as I am to my Fate

II

That whispers the saddest lines
And buries itself into Prophecy
Memory unwearyingly leads us
Home, back to the blasted tree
Where I promised the world
Grander things than I could reach!

III

I can remember much forgetfulness
As a fool, I who tried to forget
On the old fringe of silence
I snapped a twig, my heart
So that I might behold an ancient face
Whispering not gloom, but
Shattering possibility, reincarnation.

Treatise on Immortality & Reincarnation

Between Nothingness and Eternity
I will meet you there
Past the rich pretensions

Of early life, my real name
You will know
By the frequency of my spirit

Wholly unto each other
As beings of Light
We will wrap our souls

With the rainbows of
Divine caliber, preparing
Our minds for future

Incarnations, I am the red thread
That attaches to your gold thread
We are the flame of spirit-stuff

Quantum and without angles
Between the Void and Infinity
I will meet you there

As particles of the Absolute
Our secret selves shall bathe
In the same bliss and rejoice

With unmeasured thoughts of the vast stars
Where Immortality shines in a billion
Evolving selves, with the speed of time.

Mystic Disillusionment

90

O’ soul, bring wine for mystical devotion
For I am suffering of earthly malady
I have forgotten spiritual things

Bring me the cup of ‘divine nectar’
I am thirsty for Cosmic nature
My speech has become pained

With the burdens of brief-necessity
O’ soul, Beloved, pour me the cup
Of the inner life, that used to suffice

The solace of deeper things, greater truths
For I am impoverished by this world’s harms
The corruption of men and their unnatural orders

O’ soul, bring wine for inner peace and immortal bliss
For these lamentations are like a Buddhist
Or some fool that witnesses too much sin.

Death IV

70

From the monarchy of the past
We are chilled for her coming
Death, that spark of our reincarnation

Who sums up our karma in her Will
Beloved are the changes of our fates
That destiny spills with such great beginnings

Our ill health begets for what she came
That many times our body might rise again
For the supersession of breath
*
And a hundred alternate futures
Our mind confronts the murderous men
Who orchestrate wars in her gaze

Death, how she knew me to the bones
Man created this, for his own profit
As women enjoyed giving life in all that they did

But we live on an Earth that serves
The profit of a few, so death offers them
No final freedom either, only the power of knowledge

The fleeting pleasure of a few kingly years
From our station of birth we are built
To confront the meaning of our brief life
In the shinning darkness of a final abyss.

The Kerouac Summer

68

It’s the eternal summer
I stretch out on the shore
And think of you
On the coasts of seas
I have been a fish, I have been a shell
And I followed centuries to this

It’s the last summer –
And all I have is you
The low yellow moon
Above the lamplit house
Fields that spilled with Haiku
And dreams won over by the Tao

It’s the eternal summer now
After birth, death, self-dialogue
I stretch out on the shore
Of reincarnated beauty, transcendental love.

Last Unknown Road

This is thy holy hour, O Soul
The flight from endless words
To wordless bliss of aliens
And lessons done with peace

Night, sleep and stars
For your clear midnight
The roads unknown have led here
An impromptu faith of minutes

That led to some crimson divinity
Some heart-beat of God in everything
This is thy holy hour, O Soul
The deepest black of light

The crowd that formed of Beloveds
A unity of generations of people
Like lit moving candles in water
The light that was always the same

From the same star, for the unique evolution
Of all we were and did in these states
In this body of hope, a dim-lit creativity.

The Soul

We have a soul sometimes
Nobody’s going to stop it
It cannot be, taken away
It may not be respected
But it’s our call, our spirit

To show or hide away
Day after day
Year after year
We’ve kept it in the fire
Hid it, slept without it, lost it

To a more material fate
The many duties that were
Conditioned on us by our society
But it’s warm, and comes back
It will settle being ignored a while

Before we most willingly go back to it
For we are impoverished without it
We have a soul sometimes
People don’t always reveal it
Sometimes they even mask it

Stifle it, dominate us, rape us
But our soul is our lightning-verse
It’s our quantum magnet
The uphill tasks must listen
Though we so rarely hear

Good sense, or her gentle awakening
Luminous and a runaway
Our soul has lifetimes to glow and grow
Nobody’s going to stop it in the end.

You Breathe Mysticism on Me

80

Let nothing upset you
I who have been upset an entire lifetime
I have the right to say it
Hold on to the infinite
The child in you, the Goddess

Hold it tightly, as I would hold you
Like a lover, brother, father, friend
Let nothing startle you
I’ve seen you in your fierce celebrations
I’ve known you, cherished you, fought for you

All things pass, said the ancients
Say the lovers, poets, prophets, psychics
All things come again, remember your greatness
God does not change, quantum physics
Universal truth, I understand now

Why you believe so much in the human soul
I love what you do fiercely, with sacred undertones
Patience wins, delight thrives yet again
Whoever has God, lacks nothing, fears nothing
Your cosmic womb shines like lightning

Mirrors like jewels of sand, on a transparent beach
I burn for you, but God alone is enough.
