The Creative Script

4

We are not our thoughts, our own mind
Or the life we made; the intersection of time
We are not the lottery of birth
The ranks among men; the torture of the towns

No; we are something else…
Further from the cities of holograms and projections
Where a drop of sacredness changes everything
Like a dissolution of all the cravings

Where we turn invisible to the old way of things
We are not the actors and the roles
Not the sacrifices we thought we had to make
We are not the life scripts and labor and duty

We are the heart broken and made whole again
We are the cosmic patterns that sowed in us
Miracles and wonders that had little to do with us

Those things that put you beyond beliefs
Those events that change all further moments
Where the self is no longer just a self
And our work is no longer just a selfish thing

There we find remnants of who were before the fall
Before a sort of dumb materialism and capitalism
Those idols that destroyed us on the inside
Worry is itself the idleness of loving not enough

We mustn’t complain for the secret choice we made
But find fruit in the ordinary and nectar
Also in the suffering; that is our way of life
Our habit of doing and repeating
What we ourselves expect us to do; the designs
We follow irrespective of the outcomes
We are all brief experiments in a violent seeing
Where there is not time to be; but rush like an art in pain.

Being Free is living Inside

The universe is not outside of you
It took me years to see
And when I did I was already

Inside of myself, living
From the inside out
I saw you as an expression of me
And I wasn’t terribly important anymore
So I finally sold my cleverness

For bewilderment and my confidence
For simplicity, and then I suddenly
Found I knew what it meant to be

And it did not require possessions
Or achievement, or education
Or standing in the world of men
It only asked for a bit of meditation
And a bit of connection with

All that lives between moments
In the space where people connect
And how the world looks when
You empathize with it better.

Proverbs for Others

It’s a long life
And I am at the beginning of knowledge
There is a way that appears to be right
Above all else, guard your heart
For everything I do

Flows from it
I take refuge in the universe in it
Every action is flawless
In that, it brings us closer to God
God that is the nature

Of the galaxy
Where there is no revelation
I shall wait, I heed
The instruction of people
The people that universe

Sends to me, surrounds me with
Eat and drink, but always be kind
The kind person is always
Thinking of the heart of the other
Store up the loving words

Until they become commands
Of silence and empathy in silence
If you look for silver
You will miss the hidden treasures
Loving being more pleasant

Than having success
It’s a long life
And I’m at the start of empathy
In all your ways remember
There is a way that appears to be right

Above all else, do not condemn another
But find the faith that is compassion
For that is the health of your heart
To believe in a community
And to share the pain of others
As if it were your own.

These words have survived separations
Faces I can no longer remember of loved ones
Poetry has transcended my decades

Spacious and fluent like a last reminder
Of why truth is no longer as important
As beauty, inner beauty of a spiritual quality
Alphabets now shelter this candle
This life that was my hopes and dreams

These most intimate self-deceptions
Wildest faith of wonderful illusions
For a moment still I am there

With moons and roses, aware of nothing
But the shine of creativity on our inner cheek
The mineral blossoms and lotus of our imagination
It’s pure there to write like drunken water
In a light of its own color, reflecting the pauses

Silences, spaces in-between relationships and solitude
That was the best quality of the life I lived.

Treatise on God

63

And, behold, I am with thee
As the planets live amongst the stars
Behold, I hold thee, as the trees
Keep the Earth together, the air fresh

I am God, nature pure devoid of scripture
I am Love, creative, a power of evolution
I can do everything through
He who gives me strength

I can love everyone through
She who gives me the ability to love
And, behold, I am not alone
For God so loved the world

And we each have a spark of God
And whoever believes in the stars
Shall not perish but have eternal life
For in the stars awaits our destiny

And we know that in all things God works
For the good of those who crave the light
Of the future, do not conform any longer
To the pattern of the past world, it is gone

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything
By prayer and petition, present your love
To the Galaxy, the one you were born into
For it is by grace you can know God

Through faith, and not for yourself,
By the fruit of the spirit in love, joy, peace, patience
Kindness, goodness, faithfulness;
It is the gift of God, therefore I urge you

Brothers, our grace is sufficient to confess
That we want to be part of the new creation
It is love which changes the world, after all,
Keep your love free from the love of money

Live simply, give yourself fully, until the Holy Spirit
Comes unto you, let yourself be a witness
May the God of hope fill you with overflowing trust
Until resurrection finds you ready and purified.

Chew Slowly

63

To myself, the one
Beloved who I have become one with
Chew slowly
Live without regard
For the opinion of others
For in myself
I’d rather eat miracles
To be unified, to love
Beauty, to thrill with purity
To myself, the one
Isn’t so far away, to live simply
Without demand, to give
Daily to the brotherhood of Man
Chew slowly
The time as it flies
For dessert is always love
Higher love, diviner lover
Freedom as the food of the next world
Chew slowly, through the crowds
These faces just like yourself
All emanations of the one
Chew slowly, do not
Strive to make others like yourself
But strive rather to learn more from them.

My Soul is Flooded in Moonlit Night

At the end of the sky I am not alone
What thoughts occupy the highest mind
What time will the wild goose revelation come
Nearer and nearer to the final bliss

The rivers and lakes are full with Autumn’s currents
Literature and worldly success are opposed
The Tao does not listen to the lies of men
Women seek more children, while demons

Exult in human failure, minor poets trip
Throwing their best poems into the river
At the end of the sky I am not alone
The sunsets do not swallow me so easily

An army of drums meets me at the last
Stop of human travels, I have felt the white dew of love
Trap me in its sweet embrace, like a homeland
The letters I will send will go astray
Who will read the magic moon of my tongue?

Your Olden Conscience Melted in my Arms

104

May the God in you
Forgive herself, like gentle rain
Across the many forgotten memories
We choose not the thresholds
Of our dearest lessons, only

The afterwards of shared stories
Dialogues with our soul
They ripple in our conversations
Reminding me that we are so fragile
All in characteristic vulnerability

Succumbs to the vision of wholeness
That would have been a life with you near
My friend, you opened up my soul like a wild flower
And I am filled with incredible gratitude
That some force of the world

Brought you near again
May the Goddess in you
Forgive himself, like quiet sunshine

My future is my past, and you challenged
Me to be myself in an entirely new way
I love you, thank you, forgive me, I’m sorry.

Fully Awake and Dangerous

78

Wake me up from the depths/
Of slumber, bright-eyed from
A dangerous Dream, it wasn’t real?

I want to be fully awake baby/
To ascend with holy certainty
And chase after timeless optimism

In waking, eating, working, dreaming/
Wake me up from my depths
Of slumber, let me escape

The necessity of being limited/
A dangerous Dream, was it real?
I want to be fully awake dear

Tread my memories roughly/
I have been poor, so poor
Without knowing you, I have

Become rich, so rich, with but/
A drop of you, wake me up
Gently, sweetly, shake me
I don’t know how much longer
I can take it, stand it, kick it.

Maybe I Loved You in Another Time

5

To the one offering the most
I’ll throw you with fervor
The intimacy channel
As if I were twenty again!
I’ll whisper to you my blond text

Barricade myself in poetry for you
Like a seasoned artist
In love with love, making beauty
For beauty’s sake, this
Petty song of my same-old revolution

I’ll call you the last revelation
Of my creation, mounting syllables
To suit your needs, to tailor your curves
In the alphabet of your most intimate voice
Like a blade of knowledge, I’ll cut you

Yes, like a young soldier dying
From neglect and love-wounds
I’ll tell you how I’m the lone survivor
Of too much will to love
I know it’s not really a news-flash

Simply, the price of delicate boredom
Strung out in a treasure vault
Of living in words, secluded form experience
To the one offering the most
I’ll give you this, melodies predicted

For the same reasons that makes your body
A womb I cannot intoxicate myself in
A period of mining your feminine sun
I have not the Venus laments left
To trick you into defiance of your self-defenses

So instead, I’ll wait for snow to cry
In April’s unrelenting gloom.
