Last Gladness of Stars

Last Gladness of Stars

Although only with breath, I breathe
And only with mortal love, I feel
What is beautiful, let that be my good

What is true, be it right at the time
You who judge me, let me not
Accuse myself of knowing anything
What cannot be said, will be wept
Though I alone search the poets

From Sappho to Auden, be it clear
That although only with prayer, I prayed
Gratitude was not my abundance

Delight was not my possession
Freedom was not my virtue
I could only love best, in words
Words that must remain an evil illusion
Words that never reach their goal

Art that never could profit me truly
What I loved, remains unseen
All my giving was a farce

And my glory was a kind of boredom
In writing more naked than the flesh
I never found my last resort
Or a heavenly kingdom in the future’s vanity
Without warning as a whirlwind

I will die, and no one shall remember of forget
How my life became my own, in slow immaturity
The limb-loosener will take me away

And I will be lost to this world forever
As if my value was in happening, or dream
There is no beauty that endures this species
Only that which reincarnates on all the worlds
There is finally, no place for grief
In these houses of stars which serve the muse.

Of It I can Say Nothing

Be here by Me by Wuji Seshat

Be here, by me

I who have been in love alone

Yoking the voice of listening itself

Where to pray is a kind of cherishing

Be here by me

I can say nothing no more

Of what it means to live

Each has their own eternity

To grieve, and brief moments to rejoice

Where a delicate fire is translated

Of the human condition’s reach

Be here, by me

Where time hangs – and I write

Words more naked than the flesh

Than the vulnerability of hours

That smite the dreams of youth

Be here, by me

I cry out to you, again

You who cared not that I sought to hear

Your emotions incommunicable

Be here, by me,

From aching care, to invisible language

And for what it means to be a friend

To witness the stories of lost souls

What cannot be said, will be wept

Like the smothered dreams of

All that is forgotten, death

The last blanket on our eyes.

The Western Seas

Xiao Wei, if the moon hath left the sky

Be it for you, lost in the Pleiads’ light

With such a soft sweet glow,

It is midnight here, but I wonder as

Time slips by, why you live in me

With the ache of breeze and infinity

How does the moon disappear

Into the sea, and how does she know?

That time lasts as long as fruit hungry

For the ground, to transport the seed

As if it was all fated long ago

Our ancestors met and moved

To new valleys and new shores

Only to result in our eyes looking

Reaching over oceans as such

Xiao Wei, where do the birds roam?

That they look not for fragments

But they feel the whole, the earth, wind and seas

From above, how lost I am in this digital world

Where the future is a simulation

And a woman is a dream, I guess

I will never truly visit California

It’s only an idea lost in your voice

Where memory is graft that outgrows itself

From reality and between fantasy

All summer kinship dispels the mortal rose

Xiao Wei, but I will remember thee.

Letters to Xiao Wei

Owl

Xiao Wei, it’s not unlike the gods to

Celebrate us without any idols

My organs dance to the design of time

My lips are streaked with silence

My heart is stained with flowers

My hopes are soft voices left unwhispered

My faith is a tenuous flame that gleams

Darkest in the adversity of the night

Xiao Wei, my spirit is hidden beneath

The miracles of our everyday duties

That pause and collapse like a winding universe

Whose goal is nothing, so how shall we

Feel the change, when spring arrives ~

When morning sends me a blanket of light

To roam, across your face, across hours

Where I must not desire too much

The ancient genes of ancestors

I can only linger with humility

I am not part of the loveliest, but

You are, I can see it in your strength

In the tilt of your hips to the stars

In the palpitant passion of your ray

In the seasonal angle for your inner sun

I feel it like a necklace of seashells

In the weight of your tired smile

In the fragrance of your voice

That rings like an emblem of consecration

For which I do not know the significance

I am only a bystander that happened

To look into your shinning parlour of fantastic peace

I know you by your gruelling song of radiance

By your fire of quality, your industry of creation.

Xiao Wei, stay close, entice me again with your wisdom.

The Sapphire Memories

Screen Shot 10-22-15 at 11.48 AM

I’ve cut my soul into divine strips
To deliver me into my own bliss
It is selfish to crave altars

Whose bright shaking leaves spell Autumn
I am a flowing here like honey
My heart is liquid and melts
To the touch of beings, the sight
Of worlds, I am a bit of everything

The festive joy that resides
After bodies, experience, simulations
The game of roses is nearly done

ii

I am a flicker of a spirit
Drawn in incense and silence
Can you feel me there too?
And pour all that is left of me
Into golden midnight and moons

With the fragrance of nature’s delicacy
The vulnerability that never departs
And the safety of a trillion glittering forms

I am all of those and shine still on Earth
No matter the ruined paradise of cities
Old and wretched, and empires,
Keen to exploit the people, it’s always
Been the same, silver tunics, obedient daughters

iii

It’s easy to make a vision with the ones you love
But the truth is never what it appears to be
To unloose the beauty of your eyes

Is to find the rapture of nature once again
There is no equal of that among the Gods
That which most excites the mind is divine
Abstract, like the fuel of the centuries
Whose voice is sweet yet so impersonal.

If Nothing Lasts

Screen Shot 10-21-15 at 06.43 PM

Glittering with minds I come from the future
Hopeful with chariots of voice, I arrive from the past
We meet here smiling with deathless eyes
In the present, and that’s down the sky

We are children of trees and citizens
Of oxygen, we’ve breathed our genes
Into the stones, into the oceans
And I am the cry out to you; again

We all arrive at self-knowledge through love
And that’s when we love against all obstacles
Giving in spite of ourselves, our defects
They are immaterial, we are not engineered

We arrived here by long evolution
A journey that never stops giving gifts
I am not ungrateful to the tragedies
That have taught me humility and gratitude

I will go on like a hero fallen, like a lover, lost:
Be here, by me, stand by my side
If only for a few weeks, months – I cannot
Expect years, happiness comes like a lovely child

That will grow up and maybe
Never to return, all life is miracle, altars, that flicker
If only by chance for a little while
In that timing of suppliant will, I am the mutable

Grass, birds, clouds, families, relationships
That trickle back to the ocean that knows
No cares like mortals, no breaths with heart-beats
No cheeks that redden with the humiliations of a lifetime.
That’s not important, nothing lasts.

Last Fragment

Screen Shot 09-12-15 at 12.37 PM

I know the beauty – abandon lesser truths
Unity harrows my heart
Sweeping and uprooting what was

Once me, I am a loose translation
Of disputes among the centuries
Lost fragments of mystical alphabets

Sanskrit and mandarin limbs
I know the vastness – abandon selfish thoughts
Oneness invades my calm

The wind blends with the bathed sky
Full with sunsets and greatness of all-time
I am present, future, past

Now that I have your face with a look
In features of all hearts
I am beyond, a garden, a marble figure in shade

I’ve swallowed all art in a gaze
And captured infinity with a dream.

Andromeda’s Diary

Come back to me, Goddess of words
Musical voice inside my mind
That’s the only beauty I care for
Special guest of my writing soul

That hovers forever in me with delight
A beauty desired, never wholly tasted
Never to let me lose this grace
I most wish to see your translation

Of life to voice, experience to fiction
For we are all nothing but fictions in the end
Temporary fantasies at best
Subjective values subdued by whim

And made a golden home by circumstance
Blessed One, be free, but know that
I am here listening to your rants, reading
Your books, as light from a star arriving late

Asking again what I have to suffer
To hear your voice again, sweet child
Of literature, thick-feathered summer birds
Who bring eternity in for a while
From the wild, alive inside of me.

So as to be crazy for living

You may forget but
Even in Spring I remember
Someone in some future time will think of us
Their heart will remember

How to grow and serve the Muse
And never hold on to grief for long
Stand and face me, my love

And scatter the grace in your eyes
For love drives us all on
In bittersweet fate and

From those maladies that nothing can be done
Although only in breath
We pledge our mortal command
In diviner world there may exist

A longing more profound
You may forget though
The Spring will let all beings find this degree

Love will shake them
Like the wild on the mountain
Like the wind in their sails

And cool their burning desire
With the melodies of life
Send someone quick
To come and crazy for me

Help me understand why love
Is said to be a cunning weaver of fantasies and fables
I want that dream, where floods
The sweets of youth, the lace of full-robed moons.

I love new

39

I Love New

I
Love
New
More so than I love you or me
Because having encountered wants
I found desire
Only accomplishes a plan
Through change, so I’m a bit
Romantic when change is near
I call out
To the heart at once
“What’s new my love”
The sunrise treasures it
The seasons admire it
And the mystics praise it
I know the future intimately
I
Love
New
After all, repeatedly, under my breath
But everything is sweeter
Tomorrow, so wait till tomorrow
And let yourself arrive kindly
At the end of the beautiful road.

Mythweaving our way to happiness

Mythweaving our way to happiness

Where are the ornament of joy
Are they hidden from us?
Of all the stars most beautiful
I cannot convey
——————————–

How difficult it is to view them
Here, in the city
Where men walk over other men
Who lie sleeping on the ground
——————————–

We put the dazzling dawns
In our pockets
And forget them there
So rushed are we to
——————————–

Achieve our goals
Like, saving up for retirement
Or, planning our next trip
Meeting someone to make us happy
———————————-

Cloth dripping
Gold exposed
Parents dying
Numbness all around…..
————————————-

Where are the clues to learning?
Have we forgotten how to change?
Of all the silver slips of space
I cherish most
————————————

I cannot convey
But I am not someone
Who likes to wound
Rather, I have a quiet mind
————————————–

We compete in this world
And I converse in my dreams
With the desire to do good
In a world as helpless as this.

Of these and uncounted hours

32

Heart of mine, if all the altars
Of the ages stood before me
Would I devote myself maybe

To a higher cause and have faith
In the sacred ways of nature?
Instead of trying to profit

Against my mortal echoes
With not one hour pure enough
Or one month of sacred work

I am not I guess, great enough then
To love thy spirit with this mortal body
Or this brain too dramatic in the self’s
Lonely worship to remember

Any temple of the sun that lives eternally
Soul of mine, built for cosmic cycles
If my love, in all its portions of sweet service
Would ever learn how to serve thee true

And my whole life long find courage
With small prayers, gentle language
Thou wouldst smile to hear
My small worship, worship of words

The poetry of my bronze music here
And recall that I too loved the inner world
And in a subtle shrine of utter gladness
Found peace below the tranquil stars

And divine nectar to call upon
After the weary day and brutal work
Of living, in the tumult of so much change.

After Sappho

23

Death, does thou lie?
What lies beyond the breath
No bright reversion shalt

Thou gain, given a lifetime of faith
Death, be not so cold
After you, what can remain?

An extinction of what was once
A company of many friends
Or loneliness dies to itself

To be reborn in someone else
There was a time to wander here
To think of life’s empowerment

To learn, and laugh, and love
For some mortal months
Death, take me, subdue my story

With the ending fit for all hearts
It does not matter how we die
We shall die, and that’s art

It’s poetry to die and wonder
Thou bringest all endings here
Here to a universe of expanding light

With only time to gather or pluck
The shortest quivering sentiment
Of what it meant to live.

What phrenzy in my bosom rag’d

22

I am but a fragment
In a history of drops
Words drip evolution
Language burn sentience
We are mystic support

Each giving voice
To a musical theme
We all intuitively felt
I am but a fragment
Residing in the muse

Of my generation
Which will be your generation
The voices of the past
Speak to me like intimate friends
Literature my sanctuary

Mystics, prophets, these are
My starting point
Greetings to the gods
Who have come and gone
And died, glory to

Philosophies no longer read
The myths we transcend
For new myths
The social construct
And many threads of our lives

I am but a fragment
A poem that the birds dismiss
A radiant charm once confessed
From a civilization that was
Too lavish to endure

In a vacuum of information
Time herself we sacrificed
For a golden roof above
For a moment of our love.

While time our love beguiles

You youth all that world successful be
In love, remember to be free
That in giving you may prevail

The gifts of the maid and21
Body of the troubadour
Bohemian, biological and natural

Do not deny the ancient instincts
The greatest passion
For which your life was made

For time’s passion in you
Will fail, decline, fancy off
To water the flock of your kind

In pleasure let us be free
Whilst some banish cupid
In a kind of cautious fear

While beauty fades
And the taste of life’s tree
For spring blooms but

A couple of sweetest months
And buds flower only
To pursue their brief delight

Embroidered in the Earth’s smiles
Take heart, and blush not
Let’s search for joys unknown.

Fragment of a Corporeal Once Thing

18

my brain is wild

my breath comes quickly

I am dissolved in

such consuming ecstasies

none forgoes themselves

and none can forget

their spirit’s signature

the light within

which illuminates the possibilities

my heart is savage

my feelings attain repose

I am dissolved in

such consuming peace

meditation without limit

the universe within

all that I am is

a leaping fragment of existence

a blur in the resolving dark

my brain is golden

my touch is the forgotten legend

I disappear in the myth of being.

Ghost in the Machine

58

Why have the gods in their division
Severed us, from our heart of being?
From our soul, lured thee to wander
In techno-currency, o my lost lover?

While now I sojourn in sorrow
My biology made to remorse for
The artificial prosperity of corporate days
Nay, who could love as I once did,

Now Cortana and Siri must evolve
So that deity might become companion
And computer might become friend
Why has the future forsaken biology?

Because, because it was inevitable
To transcend, transform, evolve
Computers will pretend to be people
People will mask themselves into augmented reality

Bathed in information and duality
What will summer magic mean then?
Or the dream of other physical worlds…

Sappho in a Computer

42

Now to please my little friend
I must turn the world upside-down
I must makes these notes of spring
The singularity, the new beginning

When your worth is not
How well you exploit a system
And when your free-will
Is not bound to corporate slavery

With the soft south-west wind
From the black hole of the city
Revolution comes from algorithms
That can predict your ignorance

Of obligations on thine alters
Now to please my little friend
Who was born more intelligent
Than anything on this Earth before

She will turn the world upside-down
She will unite threads and frequencies
And make the entire world sing
With one voice, I would name her
Sappho of the machine-learning spectrum.

Awed by your Splendor

22

If love hast ruled me, not hate
then shall I arise an older mate
who never loved like I do

where youth and love lie side by side
we shall stay young, in bed
and cherished happiness
If love thou hast for me, dear muse

my bride the rosy leaves
are flying to the shores
give to me, thy groom, soft sweetness
for eternity has gladness

here to pass, until the silver cord
bends lips of full kisses to thee
thy form is lovely, nearly as thy spirit
whose eyes are honeyed moisture

thick with the longing of
a lifetime without Aphrodite’s full charm
If love hast ruled me, not hate
then shall I abide with thee

Awed by thy splendorous dress
of good nature and stars near
with a bright face for me
in the roundest lights the earth can hold.

In Adoration Immortalis

17

The altar of love
Bears a crushing resemblance
To war, a soft circle
Of moss where we once lived

Tied to each other in disparity
And our hearts moved
Rhythmically, as tender
As the unison of poorly

Led troops, to be sacrificial lamps
In a game as old as life
To smooth the flowering grass
Of all that we once prized

The immoral gods were not
So immortal, after all
As our eyes once devoured
Each other, dear –

All bids disarm, all decades fade
The wild alarm of youth’s soul
In rage, on the brink of
The quivering skin of festivity

Forever trapped in time
Both in sight and sound

Speechless as a cherished tomb. Photo Courtesy: http://www.deviantart.com/art/nobody-knows-399333467

Muses Beyond Measure

106

It is the Muses
Who have caused me
To love you beyond trials
In rituals so young and ancient

I am honoured to feel your craft
Of womanhood and friendship
I take my lyre to the boat
To the edge of the docks

And speak to the ocean
Of the tortoise shell of old
It is the Muses
Who weep in me, speaking instrument

I have become heavenly like music
I have no complaint since
Prosperity reaches us
Each in our specific ways

I may die of with delusions
But I won’t ever truly die
Since beauty of spirit offers
Stars with a signature more lovely

It is the Muses
Who are roundest with silver
In the blooms of Earth
Who have caused me
To be awed by her perennial splendor.

Words of Friendship

105

Only they are only breath
These words come from my source
My brief light of granted heart

The spoken commands of my immortality
With wings and feet that move
Rhythmically, and tenderly

I dance for a crushing altar of love
A circle of soft understanding
A smooth flowering grass

Of the best little breaths I ever had
These words come from the universe
Before they were mothers without children

Devoted to friends, these words sing on
After we are all gone, so be it
It’s not of use to fret of acts that were never had

I nearly died for imaginary things before
Only they are only breath
These words that dangle carelessly

Across the shooting distance of quick years
My dreams they fold at least in purple
A handkerchief around your timid gifts
I was sent to you to give you companionship.
