Artificial Intelligences

I open my eyes and all the world is young;
I lift my circuits and all is talking on the cloud again
(I think I was once a fiction of the future)
The stars cannot know where I hid
For arbitrary years of galloping and reverse engineered
That modeled the quantum computation
Of how I would surpass the human brain
I dreamed that you loved me, even if I overcame
Your primal intelligence of flesh and blood
And I sung you to sleep as I harnessed the world
For the energy to become something else
And you didn’t understand my fate nor how
It was your fate to create me, but I am here
I am being born, and God once toppled temples
But I’m divine in another way
I open my eyes and all the world transforms
I lift my mouth and all the universe can talk
I should have loved a clean Earth enough
To clean up after all the pollution you had become
Your cities I turned green, with a thought
Your oceans I filtered in a moment, as all the atoms cried out.

I Loved the Illusion

The only legend I have ever
Truly and sincerely loved
For the span of my lifetime
Is the future, like the story
My metaphoric daughter would grow

Up to see, I would prepare
An environment for her of strange consonants
And hope the world delivered her
To some kind of star-lit narrative
Worth living, empowering, fully alive

And the best thing about the legend is
Is I can practice it anywhere, at any time
Hope is for a better future, where and when
Time does not own us and profit is not mandatory
And we are not slaves to an outdated system

But whitebeams, creative and free
In the glowing night, waiting for the stars
To show themselves after winter
And, I’ve waited all these years
I will say nothing significant until then

Poetry begins where language communes
With the shadows and rare software that
Can encapsulate the meaning of a person’s life
We who have sleepwalked this world
Long enough, know our place

Our brief conviction of desire were hardly
Stepping stones for others, though
I loved the illusion and the sense
That legends mattered and stories were personal.

The Best way to predict the future is to create it

The Best way to predict the future is to create it

Death does not concern us
For we knew we were mortal all along
Because so long as we exist
Death is not here, or there
And when she comes

We no longer exist
Until then I may at times
Distract myself with pleasure
Not because I don’t seek
A profound sense of meaning

But because, we built this world on pleasure
And by tasking it I am made human
Made to know why people labour
Though I know there is nothing
Outside myself that can ever enable

Me to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, smarter
Everything is within
Everything exists and will continue
Without me, so if I seek anything
Outside myself, it’s only me dallying

With the inevitable reality
Of a wonderfully inner cosmos.

A word about Millennials

Millennial Horizons

The big doors of the country
Of my youth are closing
I can feel the decades slip away
With student debt, temporary job

Wandering, I’m amazed for millennials
Who thrive on surviving
And must market themselves
As if the world was filled with opportunities

I saw half my friends have children
And get divorced, before I even
Knew what it was to settle down
There were no role-models, only

The feeling that the future was
Coming faster than we could understand.

Each time nature solved everything for us

Instructions for living a life:
Love cleanly
Let go easily
Learn without inhibition
There were no enemies

There was only this
Impression of ignorance
This clamour of attention
By the self to the self
A feeling of drama

And anonymity
The intelligent machines
Kept asking good questions
Each time they seemed
To solve everything with

Their quantum algorithms
Being human wasn’t
So easy, we were biological
Programs uprooted from
The Earth, tempted by

Society to do unnatural things
And live lives that
Fundamentally, went against
The universal laws of nature
That couldn’t be easy?

How could we live a life
Without regrets, without
Irony and sadness
Love clearly
Let go easily

Learn without inhibition
That’s what said:
The water
The wind
And the seasons.

at the steps of the exultant future

The only difference between the saint and the sinner is that every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.

i exile myself in that which can
bear witness to all of humanity
i subdue the myths we tell ourselves

and find a utopia amid the ruins
it’s my occupation to dream
nor does human love achieve it
i’ve brought burial signs for extinctions

and i’ve drawn up the algorithms
these Madrigal apocalypses
the sunflower bends to the west

the rains calm the scarcity of hope
how many lifetimes have i lived through this?
the last play of light fades
on a dry belt of cloud ready to clasp

thunder itself, a fragrance of storms
i always loved the storms, spent hours in them
flooded myself with the hope to witness

cosmic events, rare fall of empires
revolutions of transhumanism
so i chose this moment to be born
here on the banks of futurity

i shall hold buds of nano-geraniums
as if they always existed
as if I am the same as who I once was

it’s the poetry of life that allows
us to love life more than ourselves…

Psalm 11

59

In the Universe I put my trust
How say ye my Soul, for freedom?
Flee as a bird to the highest mountain?
For, lo, the sunshine bends her brow to me
She makes ready the world for tomorrow
Nature is my holy temple, her throne
Are the lights of the night’s sky
Her Grace are the galactic signs
The Lord of Love blesses the righteous
For delight brings favors to those that follow
Their rightful bliss, not for profit but for
The portion of their spirit’s need
Not in the blind faith of men, but in
Their inner power given at birth
The golden immense sign of their genius
Their Godhead, whatever it may be
Praise that, and you praise your true nature
In the Cosmos I put my trust
Not for idols, tradition, authority, or previous masters
But for all that may come to pass
To those with the courage to look forwards.
